Enerclean Inc. has been serving Lethbridge and the Southern Alberta area for over 40 years, which speaks volumes to the integrity that was instilled in our company and is still of the utmost importance to us.
Our story begins back in the late ’70’s when a local Lethbridge family started a furnace and duct cleaning business. In the mid ’80’s, Dad decided to turn the reins of the well known great business over to his son. At that time the business was rebranded and became Enerclean Furnace and Duct Cleaning.
It continued to be the most well known furnace and duct cleaning company in Lethbridge and area, employing many great people that were very knowledgeable and passionate about what they were doing.
Fast forward to 2004 when the son then decided he wanted to shift to manufacturing and supplying furnace and duct cleaning equipment throughout Canada as well as internationally.
The very well known company had a great reputation and was then purchased by the current owners, Don and Lana Shearer, in February 2004.
We are also a local Lethbridge family, and we followed in the footsteps of the family that knew the business with the goal of keeping this business locally owned and family operated.
Our sons and daughter have all had a hand in creating our footprint in the industry. Our customers and staff are the backbone to our success throughout all the years.

Is So Critical.
The Air Duct cleaning industry is not regulated by any government body. Anybody can enter into this business with just some gear and a business card , which is downright scary.
Some companies just clean the ducts leaving your furnace dirty , some are carpet cleaners trying to use their carpet vacs to clean ducts which does not work at all ( kick these guys out ). Its like the wild west and the chances of hiring someone competent is literally 1 in 5 , about 20% of the duct cleaners out there actually know what they are doing leaving 80% as someone you won't want to hire.

Having the Right Equipment means,
You Need BIG Hoses .
Furnace and Air Duct Cleaning requires a lot of high powered air flow, which needs large 8" to 10" diameter hoses to carry the suction needed to do the job right.
You also need a large 2 stage air compressor which is always powered by Gas.
When Having your ducts cleaned make sure they have the big hoses ( for suction) and the small air lines which will be hooked up outside to a large gas air compressor
( compressed air ).
The suction is provided by a vacuum truck outside or a High Powered portable duct vacuum inside like the one pictured above . This hose then attaches to your main ducting, next we blast compressed air into the ducts to stir up and push the dust and debris towards the vacuum pressure.
If someone ever comes to your place with a big red shop vac with a spinning brush , a carpet cleaning vac, a central vac with a clear plastic box , or any small hose similar to your house vacuum then its best to chase them away with a large broom.

1. How Often Should You Get Your Furnace and Ducts Cleaned ?
You should always make sure your furnace and ducts are cleaned right after construction or renovations , then usually every 3 to 5 years after that. If you have pets with a lot of hair or someone suffers from asthma or is sensitive to dust particles in the air then you may consider having your system cleaned more often.
2. How Critical is the equipment that you use ?
Its very Critical that Professional Air Duct Cleaners use the right equipment and methods. The equipment needs to consist of a high powered vacuum system ( Portable or Truck-mounted ) which always uses 8" or larger hoses along with a high powered air compressor with a min 175 PSI and 20 CFM.
If a duct cleaner shows up using a shop vac with spinning brushes, carpet cleaning vac or a "house central vac system" on wheels then that is the wrong equipment and the wrong method for professional duct cleaning.
3. What is the right method for cleaning the furnace and ducts?
A Professional duct cleaner will tie into the duct system with the large high powered vac system ( 8" to 10" wide hose ) and with the vacuum pressure sucking they will blast compressed air into the vents and ducting to push dust and debris back to the vacuum. After all the ducts are blown the furnace itself must be cleaned such as the blower , reheat coils , burners, heat exchanger, and AC coils. The entire system from the ducts to the furnace must be cleaned.
